Growing up in Lithuania, Vilma’s passion for wine began at an early age. Though not a place known for wine, Vilma’s family often enjoyed a bottle of wine with dinner, piquing her interest in the world of wine. When she moved to the United States as a young adult, she landed a job working under famed sommelier Rajat Parr at Michael Mina Las Vegas, where her knowledge and passion for wine continued to grow. With experience at some of the most noteworthy restaurants in the U.S. under her belt, from Las Vegas to New York to Aspen, including opening a successful restaurant and wine bar in Austin, Vilma switched gears to work in wine sales for Domaine Select Wine & Spirits. During her six years as Regional Sales Manager, she gained invaluable experience managing a portfolio of fine wine and spirits in the West South Central States. Vilma received her Advanced Sommelier Certification by the Court of Master Sommeliers, and was recognized as one of the Top 7 Sommeliers 2015 by Food & Wine. With a familial lineage spanning back five generations and an upbringing working in the area’s many facets of hospitality, her connection to the local culture is woven into her very being. Her career trajectory aligns seamlessly with her love for food, libations, and experiences. Embarking into the industry well before the age of twenty-one, she learned early on that diversifying herself in the world of hospitality would lead her to success. From fine dining, to brewery events, and even back-of-house work at Industrial Eats, Samantha has done a little of it all. A desire to expand her horizons brought Samantha to Portland, Oregon in 2016, where she earned a degree in Hospitality Business Management at Vancouver’s Washington State University. In 2021, Samantha's story came full circle as she returned to the Santa Ynez Valley to join the team at Jackson Family Wines, managing direct-to-consumer for Brewer-Clifton. Keeping her heart in the Sta. Born and raised in South Africa, Ernst studied viticulture at Elsenburg Agricultural School in the Western Cape, later working harvests and making wine in the famed Stellenbosch and Walker Bay regions of South Africa. Longing to diversify his skills as a winemaker, Ernst took a job in the Sierra Foothills of California, gaining experience in a warmer climate; however, his love for cool-climate varieties led him to Santa Barbara County, where the Mediterranean climate, transverse mountain ranges and unique soil types create ideal conditions for growing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah. Throughout his career, Ernst has built a reputation for producing elegant, Old World-influenced wines that showcase personality of both vintage and site.
